Mitt wiL Bee Presadit

...according to Savannah, anyway.

Kyle and I had been trying to catch snippits of the Republican National Convention last week. Between our non-cable TV channels and soccer, callings and stuff, we didn't get to see as much of it as we liked.

The last night of it though-- we made sure it happened. We even let the kids stay up late. And you know what a bed-time fanatic I am. :)

Yes, this was a big deal.  And I wanted my children to witness this great opportunity.

We put Ruby to bed, popped some pop corn, and watched great speeches from Olympians, Rubio, a somewhat strange one from Clint Eastwood -- {but it's growing on me...}and finally Romney.

It made me proud to be an American. Proud to be a supporter of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.

While we were watching, Savannah disappeared into the playroom for a bit. I figured she was bored or something.  Not so. She's just a get it done kind of girl.

She came back with this beauty:

My favorite is her declaration in the bottom right corner that "Mitt wiL Bee Presadit."

Turns out she was feeling left out watching all the people at the RNC holding signs. So she went and made her own.

The kids were so thrilled when Mitt Romney spoke. They wanted a photo with him, so this was the best we could do. :) Cade's proud to be a cub scout.

In other exciting news, I have the amazing opportunity to meet Paul Ryan this week when he comes to little Orem, Utah. I am giddy about it beyond description.

When I heard he was coming I wanted to go SO bad.
So SO so bad.
As luck would have it a wonderful friend asked me to be her date to the event as her husband will be out of town for it.
This story is actually sweeter than that. She originally asked her son (he's in college here) to be her date but her son thought I'd enjoy it more than him, so he suggested me.

Makes you want to cry, doesn't it?
Well, it did me.

And then my jaw was on the floor and I had to keep from pulling a Tom Cruise and jumping on my couch.

So now I am hyperventilating like a 13 year-old getting ready for the Justin Beiber concert.

What do I wear? How do I do my hair?

I think I'll go shopping again in my sister's closet.

I wish I had recorded sweet little Savannah when I told her the news on the way home from Kindergarten.   She was genuinely excited for me. Her jaw was opened so wide and was grinning ear to ear and said, "that's SO COOL, Mom!"

I think it's pretty great my 5 year-old even knew who Paul Ryan was.

This post made me smile. What cute kids. I love Savannah's poster. And seeing her on the couch holding her sign made me want to cry. Maybe that's my hormones. ;) So cute.

You should send the picture Savannah made to Romney. I'm sure it would warm his heart.

LOVE it! The RNC had me on a high for a while, serious. I agree with Ryan/Kathleen, send the picture! And tell us all about Paul Ryan.

I love that your kids are getting educated about what's good in politics! I had the great opportunity to attend the RNC in Tampa with my mom as a guest of the CA delegation. Tell Savannah her sign was much better than all the ones I saw!
