Today

I'm getting anxious to catch up on birthdays, Christmas and other special days of note that I haven't taken the time to put on the blog but I know full well I have not the energy or time for that tonight. Instead, I'll just blog about today.

Today the weather was glorious. 70 something. We went to Cade's soccer game in the morning which was chilly. I asked Savvy twice if she wanted to bring a jacket but she was certain she'd be fine without one.  She later regretted it but Daddy was nice and loaned her his black vest.

Kyle could give you a more technical assessment of the game, but as far as I could tell, the boys from both teams looked great. Cade scored enough times to feel good about himself and they were pretty evenly matched.  Ruby is getting harder to bring to the games because she wants to run out into the field.  She can't make up her mind who should hold her, so Kyle and I traded her off about a dozen times easily.

Savvy had a play date today as did Cade. Makes me grateful they have good friends. I look back on the day and I realize I didn't get much done today inside the house. But it needs it. Dishes are in the sink, clothes needing to be folding and every single room in the house needs to be picked up and every surface needs to be wiped. Another day, perhaps?

After Ruby went down for her nap, I left and ran 10 miles this afternoon. I'm starting to get a little apprehensive about my longer runs. next week I do 15. I can't remember the last time I ran 15 miles.

Tonight  I attended the Young Women's broadcast. Beautiful music and great words. One of my favorite gems of the evening from President Monson:

"Life by the yard is hard. Life by the inch is a cinch."

As for next week I want to....

Register Savvy for kindergarten (sniff sniff)
Paint Cade's bedroom
Run 4,7,5, then 15 miles
Fold all the laundry and put it away
Dust
Scrub the kitchen floor
Vacuum
Wipe down every surface
Scrub toilets
Enjoy Conference!

Photos from a year ago that we just downloaded from Cade's camera:

Bailey and Ruby. I can't believe how YOUNG Ruby is here. Time goes too, too fast.

I love seeing my kids smile and hugging.

Apparently I'm not very pleased with my last bowl...

This is Lego City in Cade's room. Looks so different now!

Miss Ruby seriously grew up over night! I am still in disbelief of how big she's gotten. And although Miss Bailey's grown up quite a bit too since that picture she still has that infamous look. Haha!
