In the wee hours of the morning I caught a glimpse of Cade hovering over my face -- perhaps to see if I was asleep? I patted his head and slurred in half-sleep mumblings, "Go back to sleep, Cade, it's too early....." My head hit the pillow and I was about to go back to sleep when I thought better of it. I knew I should make sure that he went back to his room. I stumbled out of bed and noticed the kitchen light was on. It was 4:20 in the morning. Hmmmmm. I crept to the living room and heard some banging around in the bathroom. Then Cade appeared in the kitchen, carrying his stool. He set it down, opened the fridge door, then scooted the stool next to it. Amused, I stifled a giggle and watched him pull a half-full container of frosting off the shelf of the fridge. I waited until he had pulled the lid off the container and was ready to scoop frosting into his finger before I whispered. "Cade, what are you doing buddy?"
The deer caught in headlights promptly closed the lid on the frosting and replied,
"I was just putting the frosting away,"
Riiiiight.

That was hilarious. I love your writing style, too, btw. I don't think you have ever met me, but I'm a cousin. My mom is Kyle's Aunt Mona. Anyway. I love stopping by for a blog stalking now and then!
That sounds like Kyle!
I started watching the West Wing and I LOVE IT! It makes me want to study American History and our government. Sometimes I have to turn the subtitles on though b/c they talk so fast and I can't keep up. :) Thanks for the great recommendation! Hope you guys are enjoying your summer. J and I will be down next week--if you guys aren't busy we should get together.
Ha ha, what a funny kid! I can just picture the look on Cade's face when he saw you. That reminds me that I still have some cream cheese frosting in the fridge...and it's sounding really good! :)
Oh my Michelle, that is hilarious. To bad you didn't have the camera with you to take a pic of that.
The next thing you know is that you will find kool-aid mixed with sugar in his closet. I am a kindred sugar loving spirit myself!
That cracks me up; I love your blog Michelle!
