Dear Cade,

I love you. So, um, just curious..... why are you rising before 6 am? You've probably caught on to my not-so-chipper reaction to "Mom, can you get me some breakfast cereal?" that I would prefer to sleep until at least six-something. Between Daddy getting home from work after 10 and you waking up at 5, I'm having to decide between the two of you and my sleep. Nobody is winning.

I do appreciate your self-suffiency. It's cute that you don't come downstairs to get me until you've dressed for the day. I'm seriously thinking of a way to have your cereal ready in a bowl and a vessel of milk available for you to pour yourself so you don't have to wake me up, seeing as you are so independent these days.

I think it's funny that you've been asking for lunch at 10:30 in the morning. It's even funnier that I put you down for your afternoon nap at 11. Instead of 2. By the way, your new bed time is 5:30.

I'm glad after we watched some motivational videos on YouTube of infants swimming in the water that you love swim lessons now. Keep up the good work. You are hilarious as you walk through shoulder-heighth water shrieking, "I'm swimming! I'm swimming!" I have to admit though, I was secretly glad lessons were rained out today so I wouldn't have to wrestle Savannah again. She thinks she's supposed to be in the water, too. Yesterday she even grabbed herself a barbell before her 64 attempts of entry into the pool.

Thanks for being such a forgiving soul. You sure do get blamed for a lot around here. Savannah likes to scream, regardless of whether or not you whacked her on the head with a block. So, for all the times she screamed and you didn't whack her in the head and you still went to time out, I'm sorry. It's pretty obvious that I don't have eyes on the back of my head.

I hope you are enjoying your childhood and only picking up my good traits. :) Please keep the other traits to yourself. After I die, you can write your book. Until then, just hang in there and hang on to that forgiving heart of yours.

Lots of love,

Mom

That is so cute! I am so glad your recording your children's history through your blog and I am sure other ways! My Mom did that and I love reading what I was like when I was younger!

That's so funny that he does everything 2-3 hours earlier (waking up, lunch, naps). Cade is so funny!

I changed your picture on my blog, but I stole it from your blog(is that okay?). The one I had before was the only pic I had of you where there weren't a lot of people in it. The new pic I have is definitely a cuter one of you, not saying the other one wasn't...but I admit it maybe wasn't best picture of ya(sorry it was the only one I had! :)

Can't wait to see you next month!
