Oh, the great and many things I've learned this week.

our latest hobby is making Savvanah Smile...

Good evening folks. It's late and I'm too tired to do a full-blown blog, but I do want to give you a preview of upcoming blog posts I will hopefully be in the mood to write about (or have the time to write about) in the near future. It has been a good week, and i would like to share few of the things I have learned in the last 48 hours.....

1. I do NOT have a green thumb

2.The casinos here in the 'burbs of Chicago are not on Indian reservations

3. Classical music is nice, especially violinist I. Perlman, but I prefer to be an attendee to a U2 concert (minus the stinch of marijuana and the like)

4. CHI hair straighteners are great

5. Once the nap and bedtime routines with the chilluns start running like clockwork, something has to happen to screw it all up

6. I love FREE MULCH!

Okay, that's good enough for now. Until next time... G'nite!

Michelle,
Oh my goodness--we need to talk. How do you do it? How do you not see your husband--better yet, how do you not have a break from your kids? I've only been back from vacation 4 days now and I have seen Luke a total of 1 hour combined in 4 days. Which also means I have been single mom to Jordan for 4 days now--just me and him, all the time, no sanity breaks. Please tell me your secrets! :)Alicia

Oh Alicial!!!My heart goes out to you!!! Get a sitter get a sitter get a sitter! call the YW president in your new ward and get her recommendations. Tomorrow is Saturday, which means those girls don't have school so you could have a sitter for a looooong time.

There is nothing like the feeling of being chained to the four walls of your house because of the little one attached to your hip and not getting any break because of the long hours the hubby works. It's hard being the only parent around to do it all, but i would rather (most days, anyway) be doing this than knocking doors.

last summer was one i just want to forget though-- i was too sick to really get out of the house and enjoy myself but I hired sitters anyway to at least make it to relief society functions that would force me to meet people. personally, the ideal getting away would consist of a pedicure, a meal i didn't prepare, and chatting with a girlfriend, but that happens like once every four months. my own fault though. i usually am lame and do some sort of necessary errand or fulfill a church obligation when i have a sitter.

In any case, hiring a sitter is cheaper than therapy or a divorce. Kyle was a real champ and realized what a strain being a single parent during the summer is and came up with the great idea of flying out our Provo sitter for the summer. I am counting down the days until she gets here!

I used to laugh at stay at home moms who hired nannies for the summer and now i realize they had practiaclly absent husbands. i completey see why they needed extra hands. It was so they didn't lose their minds!
