Translation: The blog is drying up and becoming a bore fest.
I know. At some point I'll finish up with the long, drawn out story of how we ended up where we are and then post 150 pictures of all the fun things I've done this summer to offset the misery of moving. But in order to do that I'll need a bar stool.
Going on week three of residing here, we do not have internet, so I have to stack several bins on top of each other, set my lap top (Circa 2003 Dinosaur model) on top of the makeshift tower and then angle it just the right way to get a small fraction of 3 megabits per second flowing through my computer due to my nearly dead wireless internet card. I have to type standing up and I'm feeling like life before chairs must have been a really difficult life.
(For further information regarding this tangeant, click here)
So, barstool-less I opt for another, more brief, in-the-here-and-now update. Recall the fellow who asked to be my friend on facebook who I swore did not remember me? Well, I decided wondering wouldn't do any good. So, I dropped him a line:
Hey Russ! long time no see! I admit I had to look at your photo before remembering who in the world Russ{Full name protected. Don't want to go blabbing personal information on the blog} was. High School? Track? Swim Team? Nope. Freshman year at BYU! That was a long time ago. I am pleasantly surprised to get a friend invite from you! My guess is you just spammed all the BYU grads and I just happened to be one of the lucky ones. haha! Perhaps building your supporters early.... I remember you talking about running for president....it looks like you are well on your way, Mr. GMU Law grad! Hope all is well with you and your family! Take care, MichelleThis is what he wrote back:
Lol. No. No spamming. Actually, I found you because we share a common friend, Mandi {last name protected}. We were in the same ward growing up and went to school together. Anyway, she tagged a photo of me from our grade school days and, in that same album, there was a photo of you and I was like, "Wait a minute -- I know her! That's Michelle -- I wonder what's going on in her life?" So I"friended"you. Small world.Anyway, what is going on in your life? As far as I can tell, you graduated, got married, and became an indian chief of some sort. Talk to you later, RussellSo, I was remembered after all. And then I thought to myself, hey, it is kind of nice to be remembered. I wish all the people I remembered knew it. There are so many wonderful people out there who have touched my life, changed it for the better, and they don't even know it... There are lots of stories and deep thoughts that could be inserted here, but the arches in my feet are starting to hurt, so I'll just leave it at that for now.
By the way, this is the Indian Chief thing he was referring to:
I dressed up as an Indian for Senior Dress up Week in High School and my girlfriend Nikki dusted it off and scanned it for the world of facebook to see. I loved it so much I made it my profile picture. So, sweetie, there's a picure. The no-photo spree oficially broken.
Howwww.

Did kyle tell you about Cade's train GPS? Last week, we were talking about Cade going to school and what he wants to be when he grows up...
You are so adorable as an Indian chief!
We really were meant to be friends. I had the same outfit...and have the pictures to prove it.
Three Mbps! Cry me a river. I pay $75 a month for less bandwidth than that. Get that UTOPIA hooked up and then you'll be sailing.
3 MB/s is pretty quick on a standard WiFi connection - I am guessing you were just throwing that number out there - Am I right?
No, the 3 mbps was not a guess. When I hover my arrow over the wireless internet icon it says Speed:3.0 mbps (well, right now it is at 1.0), Signal strength: very low, and status: connected. So I wonder what the speed would be if the signal strength was "Very high." What do you think? Because this laptop is so old, I imagine there are numerous things affecting the bandwith, not to mention that my wireless card is about to fall apart.
Just take my word for it. It's slow. Worse than dial up.
I get it now. Your wireless connection between you and the router is 3Mbps which is good. The actual connection from the router to the Internet could be anything and given the experience you are having, it sounds like that part might be overloaded and consequently very slow.
Love that picture.. and that story. By the way, I need you to email me or you give me your email so we can talk about this baby shower! I want to help.
I dressed up as an Indian my Senior year too! It must be cause of Grandpa's great great great great great great great....great great ancestor that was a cherokee... :) I want to know where you are living in Orem! I move up there after the wedding and will want to have you guys come over!
